About Us

The Association of University Radiologists, P.C. (AUR) has been practicing high quality radiology and nuclear medicine services as a single entity since 1984, however, we have been a part of the community and University Health System long before our 1984 group organization. Currently AUR does business as “University Radiology,” and includes 14 Board Certified physicians. The group practices primarily at The University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC) in Knoxville, TN, the city’s largest hospital and only Level 1 Trauma Center. Our group strives to provide the highest quality radiology services available to patients, referring physicians, and the community.

The Physicians of University Radiology are comprised of sub-specialized, fellowship trained radiologists in every imaging modality, including Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Body Imaging, Women’s Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Interventional Neuroradiology, and Nuclear Medicine (including PET and PET CT specialists). For this reason, University Radiology has provided exclusive coverage of the Radiology Department at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. University Radiology also operates a private imaging office at Turkey Creek that offers CT, Nuclear Medicine, Digital X-Ray, and Ultrasound. Additionally, our radiology group provides professional services coverage for Wellmont Hawkins County Hospital and will begin professional radiology services coverage for Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System in 2008.

Each University Radiology physician strives to remain on the cutting edge of their specialization so that teaching and referring physician outreach can be a core part of the practice. This commitment is realized through the residency program at University of Tennessee and our strong relationships with area physicians.

University Radiology understands that you have a choice in radiology services and to make us your first choice customer service is key. Our dedication to our customers is what sets us apart and defines our practice. This pledge to those we serve is defined in our mission statement.

Mission Statement

AUR’s mission is to provide the highest quality customer service to all its customers, which includes referring physicians, patients, radiology residents, service hospitals, fellow shareholders and group physicians, and insurance carriers and corporations.

No matter what capacity we touch those we serve, University Radiology is committed to its customers.
